Why do you make an excellent "Tech Ninja"?
I would make an excellent Tech Ninja because I am always looking for new tools and ways to meld my curriculum with cutting edge technologies. I use my PLN to connect to new ideas and implement them.
What are some of your favorite Web 2.0 tools, and why?
So many amazing tools are available right now. This year I am really pumped about using several apps with my after-schol girls' club including Scratch, Hopscotch, and CodeSpells. Employment for computer scientists is expected to grow much faster than average compared to all other occupations because of the the rapid growth in computer systems design. I want my students, especially girls, to have the world at their fingertips and prepare them for the future.
Why is technology important in education?
Technology allows education to be personalized for each student. Students are living in a tech-filled world, whether we want to live there or not, as teachers. Our educational system needs a total redesign, a transformation, and this includes more technology so students can be engaged and learning can be personalized.
